Hi, I'm Jackson Mosley. I grew up in Conway, Arkansas, and I'm studying Agricultural Business at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
First Call started with a problem I ran into myself. The first time I took a duck call into the blind, I flared every duck we saw that morning. My buddies weren't happy, and I almost had to walk home. Most of what I found online after that either assumed I already knew the basics or just tried to sell me a different call. I learned the hard way, through a lot of trial and error.
That's why First Call exists. A duck call is a tool, but calling ducks is a skill. Most new hunters don't need another piece of gear. They need someone to show them what to do with the call already in their hands.
What First Call is
First Call is a learning system for people starting from zero: a beginner-friendly double reed duck call, plus step-by-step lessons that take you from your first quack to calling in the field. The path is simple: Learn, Practice, Improve, Hunt.
What we're building
We're building the lessons and a practice tool that gives you feedback while you learn. It isn't finished yet, and I'd rather be upfront about that than oversell it. The seven Founding 7 Edition owners will be the first to test it, followed by people on the free waitlist.
